UC Berkeley, Berkeley, California, B.S., Nutritional Sciences - Toxicology, 2019

Martin graduated in 2019 from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a B.S. in Toxicology. During his time at Berkeley, he spent many semesters exploring different research fields. Most notably, Martin worked for ENIGMA at JBEI and LBNL, a project spearheaded by Dr. Aindrila Mukhopadhyay. Martin worked specifically under Dr. Ankita Kothari, helping understand the genetic and environmental factors involved in unique plasmidomes derived from groundwater. In January of 2020, Martin joined Dr. Raffai's lab. He is interested in exploring biomedical studies that have stronger implications towards human health. Specifically, he wants to help understand exosomes and the roles they serve in cell communication, as well as elucidate the mysteries surrounding inflammation and macrophage involvement. Martin's goal is to pursue an M.D. with a focus on cardiovascular health.
